Eze Chika Nwokedi Honours 21 Gallant Police Officers For Excellent Performance In Lagos State

The Chairman of the Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State, Eze Chika Nwokedi, has demonstrated his love for the Nigerian Police by honouring 21 outstanding Police officers of the Commissioner of Police Tactical Squad, Ijegun Annex in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the award of Excellence was given at his palace in Ijegun area of Lagos.
It attracted many dignitaries including members of his cabinet, High Chief Sunny Akpaoyibo, friends and wellwishers and members of the press who witnessed the presentation.
This latest award is one among several awards Eze Nwokedi has bestowed on Police officers in 2025 to operatives at various Commands and Headquarters, who have demonstrated professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Some of the awardees included, Inspector Odiba Abel, Inspector Odim Destiny, Inspector Williams Henry, Inspector Osakwe Azuh, Inspector Olukayo Remi, Inspector Ikpemosa Stanley, Inspector Asowata Iyere, Inspector Oluwafemi Monday, Inspector Olawale Fapetu, Sergeant Raji Kolawole, Sergeant Oyinbo Festus and others.
Before presenting the awards, Eze Chika Nwokedi stated that the officers were selected based on merit and many residents testified and identified the officers with the support of his cabinet members.
He explained that it is an annual event, which his palace hosts two times every year to identify the Police officers who have performed creditably well in order to assure them that Nigerians appreciate their efforts.
He stated that he will continue to encourage and support the Police because he knows that they are sacrificing a lot to perform their duty of protecting lives and property.
He further explained that his own award goes with gifts and it is meant to appreciate the officers and encourage them to do more while the bad eggs among them will learn that there is a reward in doing good and change to become better officers.
Eze Nwokedi noted that Police officers are making a lot of sacrifices because they leave their families and move from one place to the other as transfers to protect lives and property therefore, Nigerians should support the Police according to their abilities.
On the Ijegun Annex of the Tactical team, he stated that he played a critical role to ensure the station was approved by the high authorities. And since the station was created, the issue of kidnapping, armed robbery and various crimes were reduced to the barest minimum in the area. He promised to support them by constructing the station’s gate to be more conducive for the officers.
Nwokedi also commended the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, AIG Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Inspector General of Police, for their efforts in ensuring that Nigeria is safe across the States and encouraged them to do more in the protection of lives and property.
Those present at the event commended Eze Nwokedi for his efforts in encouraging and supporting the Nigerian Police over the years and as he has continued to do so unrelenting.
Chief Sunday Akpaoyibo commended Eze Nwokedi and explained that since he got to know him over the years, he has been supporting the Nigeria Police; if he was not repairing their operational vehicles, he was fixing furniture and painting various stations offering assistance to the Nigeria Police.
He enjoined other Nigerians to emulate Eze Nwokedi to support and encourage the Police for better performance of their duties.
Some of the Police officers present were full of praises for Eze Nwokedi’s gesture and stated that the awards have assured them that members of the public are appreciating their work and it will spur them to do more.
