IGP Egbetokun Receives Newly Called-To-The-Bar Officers
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has received Police officers who were recently called to the bar at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
In his address, IGP Egbetokun congratulated the officers and gave special recognition to DSP Idachaba Laraba for the outstanding feat of graduating with First Class honours from the Nigerian Law School.
He noted that their success represents not just a personal milestone, but also a significant asset to the Nigeria Police Force.
The IGP emphasized that every action and power exercised by the Police must be grounded in, and backed by, the law. He stressed that the officers return not merely as personnel, but as custodians of legal knowledge, whose expertise must be used to strengthen the Force and serve the Nigerian people.
The officers expressed their profound gratitude for the warm reception and deep appreciation for the IGP’s steadfast support in ensuring that Police officers are afforded the opportunity to attend Law School. They pledged to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in their new roles.
This addition of legal expertise comes at a timely moment for the Nigeria Police Force, aligning with the recent upgrade of its Legal Section to a full Directorate, now headed by an Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
