The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said his administration will continue to partner with faith-based organisations like the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas for interventions in education, health and other social services for the benefit of Lagos residents.

He spoke on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the leadership of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas, led by its President, Prince Adeniji Kazeem (SAN), at the Lagos House, Marina.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, while congratulating Prince Kazeem, the former Lagos State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, on his emergence as the President of the Society, expressed confidence in his leadership as a capable and competent administration.

He assured him and the entire leadership and membership of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas that the Lagos State Government will provide necessary support to make the current tenure remarkable and successful.

“We commend the interventions by Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas over the years, directly and indirectly. This is a Society that has indeed changed lives and made positive impacts in the society, especially in the educational sector.

“I also want to thank the Society in other areas of intervention like health and in ensuring that we can collaborate in security and engage in government advocacies and public enlightenment,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said.

Speaking earlier, the President of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas, Prince Adenji Kazeem (SAN), reaffirmed the Society’s commitment to supporting the Lagos State Government in advancing education, healthcare and social welfare in Lagos.

Prince Kazeem described the engagement with Governor Sanwo-Olu as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the Lagos State Government and faith-based organisations in promoting inclusive development and moral rejuvenation.

“For over a century, Ansar-ud-Deen has remained steadfast in promoting quality education, moral discipline and community service in line with Islamic values. Our Society stands as a dependable partner to the Lagos State Government in achieving a Greater Lagos that is inclusive, prosperous and peaceful,” he said.

Prince Kazeem commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for his exemplary leadership and development strides in infrastructure, education and social welfare.

“We are proud of your achievements, and we assure you of our continued prayers and partnership in building a greater and more prosperous Lagos,” he said.

The Ansar ud deen President also called for stronger partnerships between government and faith-based organisations to enhance social impact through joint education, health and welfare programmes; promotion of interfaith collaboration to sustain peace and unity; and capacity building for religious leaders in governance, transparency and project management.
