Gov Otti And Prophets Of Doom

Of late, we have heard and seen prophets of doom, sorry Prophets of God, prophesying about the upcoming 2027 Abia Governorship election. These self anointed prophets of doom, sorry “Prophets of God,” have been releasing “prophecies,” which you don’t need any spiritual help to see that they’re not from God. They are words of men which they’re trying to use their “calling” as men of God,to pass across as words of God,after being settled handsomely.

Just yesterday, I came across one of such “prophecies” as reportedly made by one “Prophet” Elijah Ayodele, a man whose antecedents have long pointed to the fact that, he’s sympathetic to the ruling APC. “Prophet” Ayodele made the self same prophecy that others like him have made about Gov Otti and Abia 2027 Governorship Election. His “prophecy” was that the governor can be beaten in 2027. He reportedly went further to add that, Chief Mascot Kalu, younger brother to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, would be the man to unseat him, if he ( Mascot) does what he’s supposed to do. This latest “prophecy” no doubt, further lent weight to the argument of those who have been accusing this “prophet” of having partisan bias.

Those who know Nigeria political trajectory, will definitely know that this is not first time these seeming manipulated and manipulative “prophecies,” have been made . We’ve seen them severally in the past. They come mainly during election seasons. Many can still recall one of such “prophecies” made before 2011 Imo State Governorship election, by Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka. It was against the then Gov Ikedi Ohakim. Just one day, the good people of Imo State woke up, to receive the disturbing “prophecy” that God told him ( Fr Mbaka),that Chief Ohakim would lose his reelection bid. And that came to pass!

However, some years after that “prophecy,” the same Rev Fr Mbaka, made a sensational volte face, admitting that the “prophecy,” was not from God. Meaning that it was a fake prophecy! He apologized to the ex governor, but, apology or not, the fact remains that fake prophecy, helped to justify Chief Ohakim’s unfair ouster, as an act of God.

History has a way of repeating itself. What is currently happening in Abia State now, to me seems a rehash of the same spiritual abracadabra
witnessed in Imo in 2011, that made the world believe that, Chief Ohakim, didn’t just lose freely and fairly, but also, that his loss was endorsed by heaven. In the many dark
scenes and acts that characterize desperate vote stealing dramas, the “prophecy” scene is often the second, and perhaps, most important scene of that drama. However, it’s always the first to be acted openly, because the first scene, the hatching of the plot is always a secret deal.

This robbery plot always starts with the mad desire to grab power, and the hurting realization that such can’t happen unless it’s stolen. Faced by this defeating reality, potential vote thieves not only get more desperate, they actually go gaga, seeking ways to grab power.

Of course, they normally settle for these “prophets” for obvious reasons. First, they understand that the religious sector of this country, like other sectors also suffers from corruption. Again, they understand also that religion is the poison of the masses. And most importantly, they know that if they steal with the name of God, the people themselves would stand up to justify the stealing, as God’s doing.

So, convinced they have foolproof thieving strategy, they look for the compromised “prophets” compensate them heavily, hand them written scripts, and they mount the pulpit, and brazenly act out the scripts.

I wouldn’t know how His Excellency Gov Alex Otti is reacting to these red flags against him ahead of 2027. But, one thing I know for sure, and I believe he knows too, is that those procuring these “prophecies” are truly desperate. They want the governorship seat “by fire by force,”

And we all know why. He has used good governance to rubbish the cabal that held Abia hostage, and raped it ruthlessly for long. They desperately want revenge. Of course, they also have external collaborators, those whose generational agenda, has always been that development and progress, will never happen in Ala Igbo. So, anytime such happens as we’re seeing in Abia today, they’ll gang up with internal saboteurs, and derail it. It has happened before, and could happen again, if ignored.

Gov Otti, there’s danger ahead. The voiceless and defenseless love your disruptive style of leadership. But, they are powerless and helpless. The elites are angry with the way you’re are rubbishing them with scintillating performance, and they’ve all the power. And sworn to removing you by hook or crook. Please, for the sake of Nde Abia, and Ala Igbo don’t allow them succeed.
