Hospital Where DPO Was Injected To Death Shut

The hospital where a medical doctor injected the former Divisional Police Officer, Superintendent of the Police, SP Ogoezi Rawlings in Igando area has been reportedly shut down in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the medical doctor whose identity was not yet known and the nurses who worked at the hospital were arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation Intelligent Department, SCID Panti Yaba, Lagos.
The late Rawlings died recently after he was attacked by a suspected cult group who inflicted injuries on him with machetes in a popular hotel in Igando area. He was said to have been receiving treatment at the hospital after the attack but was not improving.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the late Rawlings was transferred to Alakija police station. While there the injury he sustained on the hand became complicated and he drove to the hospital to receive more treatment and surgery. The doctor reportedly administered injection on him and there were reactions. He became unconscious and died immediately.
His body was deposited at the mortuary while the police commenced investigations to ascertain the cause of his death. It was such investigations that led to the closure of the hospital and the arrest of the suspects pending the report of the autopsy.
When P.M.EXPRESS visited Igando Police Division where he served before he was transferred, police sources confirmed his death and the arrests made, saying that the matter has been transferred to SCIID Panti for further investigations.
Police sources at SCIID Panti confirmed the arrests and said that the police were still investigating into the matter to determine if it was a case of murder.
