Ndigbo Buru Otu Association Visits Orphanage Home, Donates Food Items & Cash

As part of the association’s mission to meet the needs of motherless babies, widows, and the less privileged in society, the Ndigbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria has continued to show love and compassion on the less privileged by visiting Ighalo Orphanage home in Ijegun, Lagos State and donated food items and cash gifts to the children.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the donation was part of the association’s mission to meet the needs of the less privileged in the society and they have been doing so meticulously since 10 years ago when the association was founded by their President General, Eze (Dr)Chika Nwokedi.
The group has made it a routine to visit orphanages every November. In 2024, the group paid such visit to Charitas Orphanage in Abaranje, Ikotun, to express their love and support by giving food items, especially at a time when the Nigerian economy was biting hard.
The President of the Association, Eze Nwokedi, who is also Ezendigbo Ijegun Ijeododo and Chairman Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State, led some members of Ndigbo Buru Otu Association to the Ighalo Orphanage home and donated the items contributed by over 70 members of the group.
Speaking during the visit, Eze Chika Nwokedi explained that it is a regular exercise by the association to show magnanimity effortlessly and relentlessly to the less privileged as a way to give back to society.
He explained that they chose Ighalo Orphanage home this year basically because the headquarters of the Ndigbo Buru Otu Association was completed and located in Ijegun and they have to start from Ijegun to other areas subsequently.
He stated that it gives him inner peace and joy whenever he and members of the association visit orphanage homes because it is Biblical; where it was said said whatever one gives to the less privileged is given to God. He recalled when he fought to convince members for their support to donate to the less privileged but today, the members are happy and are donating freely every year to the orphanage home.
He promised to continue to support the less privileged in the society and explained that his support is not only the orphanage but it includes the widows, widowers and families who need help to survive. He urged the privileged people in the society to emulate Ndigbo Buru Otu by assisting the less privileged people in the society..
The manager of the orphanage, Mr. Samuel Ogbonna, warmly received the guests and expressed happiness over the gifts of love bestowed upon the children of the orphanage home by the association.
He thanked members of Ndigbo Buru Otu asssociation for their support and commended Eze Nwokedi for what he has been doing to humanity by touching many lives in the society.
Some of the members of Ndigbo Buru Otu Association spoke on the significance of the visit and commended Eze Nwokedi for the vision to embark on such visit to remember the less privileged in the society.
Chief Anthony Owoh, also known as Ikuku Oma of Ndigbo Buru Otu Association, said it was part of the social responsibility of the group to remember the less privileged in the society. He explained that since he joined the group over the years, they have been doing it and it gives members inner satisfaction and that is the reason there is always huge turnout by members. He urged individuals, groups and association to emulate the group and assist the less privileged people in the society.
Chairman and Secretary of the association’s committee, Ogbuefi Chibuike Oguegbe (DSP Okogba ) and Udegbe Joy Nkemjika, thanked Eze Nwokedi for the vision which the members have embraced and support every year. They stated that there is peace and joy to give to the less privileged. They thanked members for demonstrating love and compassion the the less privileged in the society.
In the same vein, Lolo Okeoma Nkiruka, Ugo Si Mba), commended the efforts of Eze Chika Nwokedi and members of Ndigbo Buru Otu for coming out enmass to donate and support the less preveildge in the society.
He urged those who have the means to always remember the conditions of the less privileged in the society and support them in any way possible.
