Notable Apex Niger Delta agroup, the Orashi National Congress (ONC) has commended the Executive Chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Area, Rivers State, Hon. Michael Ofori Owolobi, for the visible and people-oriented projects executed within his first 100 days in office, describing the achievements as a clear demonstration of responsive and accountable grassroots leadership.

Speaking on behalf of the Congress, Amb. Emeni Ibe, President General of the Orashi National Congress, noted that the commissioning of vehicles, the provision of an ambulance, and the construction of a community hall reflect prudent use of public funds and genuine commitment to improving the welfare of the people of Abua/Odual.

While applauding this development, ONC challenged the other three Local Government Chairmen in the Orashi region to come forward and publicly present their 100-day scorecards, stressing that the people deserve transparency and tangible results, not excuses.

Amb. Emeni Ibe further emphasized that Local Government funds are meant for development at the grassroots, not to be shared among council officials and political leaders, adding that accountability must remain non-negotiable.

According to him, “The Abua/Odual example has shown that when funds are properly utilized, the impact is clear. Other council chairmen in Orashi must show what they have done with public resources within their first 100 days”.

The Orashi National Congress reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring governance at the local level and advocating for responsible leadership that prioritizes the interests of the people above personal or political gains.
