Comrade Dauda Inspects Ongoing Onilekere–Onipetesi Link Bridge Project
OLALEKAN ONI

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), demonstrated his unwavering commitment to service and development by working till the last day of the year, as he inspected the ongoing construction of the link bridge connecting the Onilekere and Onipetesi communities.

The inspection underscores the Chairman’s resolve to ensure that key infrastructure projects promised to the people of Ikeja are delivered as scheduled and to the highest standard.

It will be recalled that during the electioneering campaign, Comrade Dauda pledged to construct a bridge that would link the Onilekere and Onipetesi communities to enhance ease of movement, boost commercial activities, and strengthen community partnership. Today, that promise is steadily being translated into reality, as construction work has commenced and is progressing satisfactorily.

Upon completion, the link bridge is expected to be commissioned in the coming months and will significantly improve connectivity between the two communities, reduce travel time, and stimulate economic and social interactions for residents.

The project is designed as a legacy infrastructure, being the first of its kind in Ikeja Local Government, and notably, it is being achieved within the first year of Comrade Dauda’s administration. This milestone reflects purposeful leadership, effective planning, and a clear commitment to people-oriented governance.
As the saying goes, when opportunity meets preparation, success is inevitable. This project stands as clear evidence of Comrade Dauda’s preparedness for public office and his determination to deliver tangible dividends of democracy.
Ikeja Local Government is indeed blessed at this time with a leader who is focused, prepared, and resolute in his mission to usher in Better Days for the good people of Ikeja as the administration moves confidently into the year 2026.
