This may not be the best of times for the popular prophet and founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele whose church headquarters is located in Lagos.

The police alleged that armed robbers invaded, burgled his church, carted away money and other church valuables found inside and escaped.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the church headquarters located at Ayodele Crescent in Oke Afa, Isolo area of Lagos.

Some members of the church were still in shock over the incident and wondered why it did not come to the knowledge of Ayodele who was known for his accurate prophecies.

It was gathered that apart from the N100,000 found inside the offering box, the men of the underworld also stole his wireless microphone worth N300,000 and an international passport belonging to female member, Mrs. Mohidat Anjorin.

One of the suspected robbers, a 21-year old Abdulahi Ibrahim has been arrested.

According to the police, Ibrahim broke into the church early in the morning, stole cash and other items declared missing.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the church management and members realised the theft when they came to the church for morning service only to discover that the church was burgled. They went to where the money was kept but it was no longer there and found out that other items were also missing.

The matter was reported to the police at Ejigbo Division who moved to investigate and arrested Ibrahim.

The police later charged Ibrahim before an Ejigbo Magistrates court for burglary and stealing.

He pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni granted Ibrahim bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The prosecutor, Mr. G. Simon did not object to his bail but asked the court to give bail that will enable the suspect to come for trial in the interest of justice.

However, he was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter has been adjourned till 23 March, 2018.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that some of the residents who heard what happened were surprised that criminals could invade the sacred church without the knowledge of any of the church security or the revered Primate seeing it.
