The Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), Anambra State Branch, has condemned the barbaric, inhumane abduction and murder of an Abuja-based lawyer and human rights activist, Barr. Princess Nwamaka Mediatrix Chigbo.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the CLO Chairman, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, made the remarks during his condolence visit to the bereaved family at Umuoji, Idemili South LG of Anambra State.
He said, “The despicable and barbaric, detestable act is the hallmark of man’s inhumanity against man. If gold rusts, what will happen to iron?” If such a prominent citizen is murdered, what’s the fate of ordinary citizens?”
“Anyone who kills an innocent person will lose his life and everything he is and has.”
“In addition to Edmund Burke assertion that ‘No evil doer will go unpunished, if not by man certainly by God, if not on earth certainly in heaven for the triumph of evil over good is temporary.”
CLO appeals to the Inspector General of Police and theCommissioners of Police,
Abuja Command, for in-depth investigation to unravel the perpetrators and ensure they face the law.
“May God grant Barr. Chigbo’s soul eternal repose and give Dr.Maureen Chigbo, her family, Umuoji Community, and loved ones grace to bear the loss.” Ezekwueme stated.
The late Nwamaka, an Abuja-based lawyer and former treasurer of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abuja branch, was killed by kidnappers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
