KINGSLEY EBERE

Founder and head of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has bestowed award of Excellence on the Chairman of Igbo leaders in Lagos State, Eze (Dr) Chika Nwokedi, for his contributions to humanity.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the award was presented to Eze Nwokedi, also known as Okpoko one of Obodoukwu town in Imo State, at his church in Oke Afa, Lagos.
While presenting the award on behalf of Primate Ayodele, the senior pastor said that the Primate has noted Nwokedi’s contributions and how he has touched many lives through his programme especially the less privileged in the society. And in recognition of his contributions, he presented the award in the presence of other church leaders and some members of the press.
Indeed, the giving of the award to Eze Nwokedi by Primate Ayodele is significant and it was not a surprise to many people especially the Igbos, who know what Eze Nwokedi has been doing through the Eze Okpoko Foundation founded by him some years ago.
Hundreds of widows and the less privileged in the society have benefited through the foundation. He has built houses to the homeless, paid hospital bills for sick people and the aged have benefited from the benevolence of Eze Nwokedi over the years.
Eze Chika Nwokedi, after receiving the award, thanked Primate Ayodele for recognizing his efforts in touching the lives of the people especially the less privileged in the society. He said that he has received numerous awards from individuals, groups and the latest award by Primate Ayodele is making it 3000 awards he has received. He said that he will not take the award for granted rather, the award will spur him to do more and touch more lives.
On Primate Ayodele, he noted that he has been observing what he had been doing through his church and his prophecies over the years. He noted that one particular quality of Ayodele is that he has the passion to touch lives and assist the less privileged in the society and encouraged him to continue to do so.
Nwokedi noted that Ayodele made one striking negative remark about Ndigbo recently when he said that Ndigbo were cursed and it caused a lot of backlash and many Igbo people did not like the comment as they expressed their anger on the social media.
He stated that many Igbo people did not understand in what context Ayodele made the comments, which did not go down well with majority of Ndigbo across the states of Nigeria. However, he noted that Ndigbo are very forgiving people. They have put that behind them and that was why he came to his church to receive the award.
He presented some gift items to Primate Ayodele and some of the workers in the church despite Ayodele’s unavoidable absence at the presentation of the awards.
