In another recorded breathtaking academic milestone, the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State— Nigeria— has formally confirmed the appointment of Dr. Johnbosco Chukwuma Ozigbu as Adjunct Visiting Professor in Economics on pro- bono basis, in recognition of his unwavering commitment to the academic community as a high flying member of the ivory tower with proven records of excellence at world renowned  institutions like: Oxford University; United Kingdom, Cambridge University; United Kingdom, and Harvard University; in the United States of America.
Many know him as a road construction giant, business titan, corporate tiger, respected community leader, and an uncommon philanthropist, whose footprints are visible across Imo communities. But beyond the boardrooms and executed infrastructural projects— High Chief Dr. Johnbosco Chukwuma Ozigbu (Ogwuaga of Ogwuaga, Ikenga Igboland)—has quietly nurtured another enduring legacy; academic excellence, and scholarly prowess. An undeniable commitment which has been recognized with his appointment as Adjunct Visiting Professor of Economics at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, while he renders same services at the Rivers State University (UST), Nkpolu- Okoworukwo, Port Harcourt, and Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, in the Faculty of Management Sciences, Rumulomeni, Main Campus, all in Rivers State.
The offer, approved by the Vice-Chancellor and conveyed through the Office of the Registrar, entrusts Dr. Ozigbu with responsibilities that include teaching, research supervision, and other academic services within the University’s Business School. Serving on a pro-bono basis underscores a voluntary commitment to knowledge transfer and mentorship, a decision rooted not in obligation, but in contribution.
Dr. Ozigbu’s academic journey has long paralleled his entrepreneurial achievements. With an MBA in Banking and Finance, an M.Sc. in International Economics and Finance, and a Ph.D from Rivers State University, he has consistently bridged theory and practice. His intellectual refinement extends to executive studies at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, Business Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge, and participation in the Senior Executive Programme, Africa at Harvard Business School.
His research works— as captured by the Publisher of 4th Estate Reporters— included but not limited to— studies on oil rents and human development outcomes in Nigeria, as well as financial digitalization and inclusion, reflect deep engagement with economic development and policy realities. An Amazon-accredited author with publications in reputable international journals, he represents the blend of academic rigor and real-world application that universities increasingly seek.
Beyond the academia, his legacy remains tangible in the communities he has touched: strategic road construction projects across Abba and Nwangele LGA, residential homes donated to indigent families, scholarships awarded to students, youth empowerment initiatives, and the construction of a modern church edifice donated to Christ the King Catholic Parish, Abba. These acts reinforce a philosophy that leadership must be both intellectual and practical.
His recent appointment, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State—  therefore stands— not merely as a title— but as affirmation of a life committed to learning, service, and development. In an era where many separate enterprise from education, Dr. Johnbosco Chukwuma Ozigbu continues to demonstrate that true leadership thrives at the intersection of both. A man who has seen it all; and has also achieved it all.
He came, saw, and now conquering two powerful worlds: business and academics.
