Ogun 2027: Senator Adeola Yayi Believes Strongly In Due Process – Says High Chief Odunaro

Posted on April 12, 2026
Amidst self-serving interpretation and misinterpretation of the appeal made by the distinguished lawmaker representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi, while urging his supporters to draw caution with the erection of billboards and pasting of posters in line with due process and the rule of the game, his Chief Of Staff and Media Adviser, High Chief Kayode Odunaro, has reaffirmed the Senator’s interest in following the tradition and rules of the game guiding the race for governorship in Ogun State.
As monitored on different platforms, some interested parties have misinterpreted the Senator’s appeal to mean lack of interest in running for the seat of governor in Ogun State in 2027.
While speaking in a phone in radio interview on Splash FM 106.7 as followed by this platform over the weekend on the misconception, High Chief Odunaro stated that the statement of the senator to his supporters was intended to achieve two purposes namely to appreciate their love and massive support with their resources as expressed in billboards and posters as well as urged them to be guided by the rules of the game and the electoral law of the country.
In the monitored broadcast with Dele Ayodo as anchor, High Chief Odunaro stated that the twisting of the statement he issued was at the instance of those afraid of Senator Adeola’s participation in the race towards Ogun 2027 with his soaring popularity among the people of the state.
High Chief Odunaro stressed that, “the senator’s intention was first of all to appreciate the love, the massive support of the supporters as expressed in erecting bill boards and posters with their own resources. There was nowhere the Senator stated that he was no longer interested in Ogun State affairs or the race to Ogun 2027. That misinterpretation was the illusion of those afraid of his popularity among the populace”.
Osorun Odunaro stated that the statement of the Senator was further to reiterate his firm believe in due process and for his supporters to be guided by the traditions, rules of the game, the party’s timetable and the electoral laws, all of which has not indicated full blown campaigns adding that they should only continue to show support and not solicit for votes at this time with their billboards and posters.
During the programme, the Chief of Staff and Media Adviser said, “If you noticed, the posters and billboards were sponsored and powered by various groups and individuals in love with the senator’s sterling performance as a senator and they are calling for support for the senator. The senator as a true progressive will not jump the gun to start campaign through posters and billboards. At the right time, in consonance with party guidelines and electoral law, Senator Adeola will come out full blast just as he did to win the Ogun West Senatorial seat with a wide margin. So far, he has not done any campaign but consulting widely”.
High Chief Odunaro, in response to a question, said that Senator Adeola as a true progressive has been supporting progressive causes in Ogun State even when he was in Lagos as far back as the administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s re-election for a second term stressing that it was not surprising that he continued his support for the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun.
“Senator Adeola has a very cordial relation with the incumbent governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, over the years. He is always doing things to complement the achievements of the governor in many areas. And if there is any shortcoming, he will always fill in the gap. And he is doing all these for the progressives’ cause. For crying out loud, the governor and the senator are of the same party, APC. If APC succeed under Prince Dapo Abiodun as it is doing, then Yayi has succeeded as senator from Ogun West” High Chief Odunaro stated in the radio interview.
High Chief Odunaro stated that in relation to the race toward the governorship seat of Ogun State in 2027, Senator Adeola as a tested and experience progressive politician from origin till date will always be guided by progressives’ traditions that he is well accustomed to, the rules of the game as dictated by the party and the electoral law of the land.
