Re: Security Director In Police Net Over Alleged N50m Scam
CYRIACUS IZUEKWE
Mr. Isaac Akpo has debunked the publication on the Managing Director of Ashaka Security Company Limited, Mr. Wilmer Ashaka dated 23 May, 2017, captioned: Security Director In Police Net Over alleged N50m scam in Lagos.
In a reaction dated 6 April, 2018, sent to P.M.EXPRESS through his legal counsel, he described the publication as misleading and unfounded against Mr. Ashaka.
It stated that the operatives of Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, FCIID headquarters, Lagos annex did not at anytime or circumstance arrest the Managing Director, Ashaka Security Company Limited, Mr. Wilmer Ashaka for any involvement in N50m financial scam as was alleged in the publication.
Rather, it stated that Mr. Ashaka walked to the Force Command on his own in response to the invitation extended to him by the police over a petition. It also stated that though there was a petition written to the DIG by Mr. Akpo against Mr. Wilmer Ashaka, that it was not a petition on fraud or scam as alleged but a business transaction that went sour.
It stated further that the petition was not a subject of charge in any court of law. It should also be noted that the MD of Ashaka Security Company, Mr. Wilmer Ashaka and Mr. Isaac Akpo are sons of the soil from Delta State and had maintained both cordial brotherly and business relationship over the years hence the retraction.
“It is believed that both parties will continue to maintain peaceful relationship in the future” it stated.
He regretted any inconveniences the publication might have caused Mr. Ashaka and the Ashaka Security Company Limited and apologised over the publication.
