Ojodu LCDA Hosts Ikeja Federal Constituency G18 Legislative Summit, Strengthens Unity Ahead Of Elections

Ojodu LCDA on Wednesday, August 5th, 2026, hosted the Ikeja Federal Constituency G18 Legislative Summit, bringing together legislative leaders and councillors from across the constituency in a strategic engagement aimed at promoting peace, strengthening collaboration and consolidating democratic progress ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The summit, hosted by the Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, with the Leader of the Ojodu LCDA Legislative House, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira, serving as co-host, attracted councillors and principal officers from the legislative arms of Ikeja Local Government, Ojodu LCDA, and Onigbongbo LCDA.
The gathering provided a platform for robust deliberations on fostering stronger inter-council legislative cooperation, sustaining the developmental gains recorded across the three councils and reinforcing the shared commitment to peaceful political engagement within the Ikeja Federal Constituency.

A major highlight of the summit was the strategic discussion on grassroots political mobilisation and voter participation. Participants emphasized the need for intensified ward-level engagement, effective voter mobilisation, and coordinated grassroots campaigns to ensure impressive voter turnout and electoral success in the forthcoming elections.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Chief Host, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku represented by Vice Chairman, Hon Kafaya Layeni underscored the importance of unity, collaboration and purposeful leadership among elected representatives, noting that sustained cooperation among legislators remains essential to advancing good governance and delivering greater dividends of democracy to the people.
