Man, 25, Drugs, Rapes Facebook Lover

A 25-year old man, Mr. Ekene Onyetube has been arrested after he allegedly invited his 28-year old Facebook lover from Enugu State, drugged and raped her in a popular hotel in Lagos.

The incident happened on 5th of May 2018 at De-Didos Hotel located at Shibiri area of Lagos where he lodged her before debasing her, taking her phones, voters card and escaping from the scene.

It was gathered that the victim slept all through the day before the hotel management went to the room, rescued her and took her to hospital.

By the time the victim regained consciousness, she went to Ilembe Hausa police station and reported the alleged rape. The police then trailed him and eventually arrested him in his hideout. The matter was transferred to the Police Command where he was paraded by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal.

The police boss said that the suspect met the victim through Facebook and they started chatting to the extent that she was invited to come to Lagos and she agreed. It was in the hotel where she was lodged that the incident took place.
He said after she reported the matter, police detectives went into action in partnership with the members of the public which led to the suspect’s arrest in another hotel.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that during interrogations, the suspect confessed to the crime. The CP Edgal used the opportunity to warn the youths to be wary of those who promise them gifts and better life. The police boss said that the youths should seek the advice of their parents at all times about people making promises to them.

He said that the suspect will definitely be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.
