Social Media advocates of Anambra North Senatorial zone have unanimously called for a truce over what they saw as negative propaganda in the zone on the social media in recent times.

The truce was reached at a meeting convened by Ogbuefi Harris Chuma at Cosmila Hotel, Awka on Wednesday. The meeting which was a platform for them to sheathe their swords and chart a new cause for positive propaganda about Anambra North zone, saw the advocates broker peace and equally cautioned on the use of foul language to batter the image of the zone.

The convener of the reconciliatory meeting stressed the need for social media influencers to desist from creating animosity between themselves in a bid to project their principals and political aspirants for the 2019 general elections. He also pointed out that social media aides of various aspirants from Anambra North senatorial zone should refrain from raining insults and abuses on themselves for unnecessary pecuniary reasons but embrace positive propaganda.

Ogbuefi Chuma was of the opinion that the major concern was Anambra North and that a tranquil atmosphere  was of paramount importance noting that social media hooliganism and brigandage would not fetch votes for their principals and aspirants; instead it would steer up anarchy in the zone.

He therefore stressed the need for social media advocates of the zone to play by the rules and shun incessant use of foul language as social media advocacy was not confrontational adding that Director-Generals of campaign organizations of aspirants of Anambra North should caution social media aides to abstain from creating tension confusion and rancor through their media contents.

Chuma maintained that they should be constructive in their media contents rather than presenting jaundiced opinions; that as the 2019 pre-election activities gather momentum, it was pertinent for social media advocates of Anambra North senatorial district to embrace objectivism and shun defamatory statements, campaigns of calumny, character assassination  as well as casting aspersions on the personalities of individuals noting that life continues after the elections.
