Obasanjo, Nwosu, Oyinlola, Others to Commission ADC Secretariat In Lagos

Former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is among the invited dignitaries that would commission two storey building of African Democratic Congress (ADC) Lagos Chapter on Thursday at No. 2, Opeloyeru Street, Onipanu along Ikorodu Road, Lagos.

In a statement issued by Ogidi Mohammed, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of ADC Lagos chapter, the party stated that aside Chief Obasanjo, others dignitaries that would witness  the commissioning including National Chairman of ADC, Chief Ralph Nwosu, former    Governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola and all national officers of the party.

Mohammed disclosed that arrangements have been put in place for the unveiling and commissioning of the Lagos ADC secretariat.

He said all the executive members of the party in Lagos led by Chief Tunde Daramola are ready to receive the invited personalities, and national officers of the party and urged party members to comport themselves in a manner that would portray the good image of the party during and after the event.

“The entire executive members of ADC Lagos chapter cannot wait to see the commissioning of our party secretariat in Lagos. This party has come to stay and is ready to give other political parties a run for their money comes 2019 general elections. Our purpose of commissioning of Lagos secretariat is to prepare for the forth coming general elections”, he said.

Deputy Chairman ADC, Lagos Chapter, Godfrey Nkem Lemchi said the essence of commissioning the state secretariat is to position the party ahead of the general elections in 2019. He said the party will fill all the candidates to contest for various positions ahead next year’s general election.

“Despite the fact that we have not commissioned our secretariat in Lagos, the acceptability and popularity of the party among Lagosians is very impressive and encouraging. It shows that the party is another alternative for Lagosians to support in 2019 general elections. The ruling party and PDP have failed Nigerian and ADC is a political party that will take Nigerians out of wilderness. if Nigerians can give us their total supports, we will not only win Lagos, we will also win 2019 presidential election”, he said.

Commenting on how ADC party would defeat ruling party in Lagos, Lemchi said the party has offices in 240 wards in Lagos which gives the party a bright chance to defeat the ruling party and other political parties in next year’s elections.

He said the party has stronghold in some places in Lagos. Among the places including Oshodi/Isolo, Amuwo-Odofin, Ajeromi, Eti-Osa, Surulere, Kosofe, Shomolu, Moshin, Ikeja and Ifako-Ijaiye would be a difficult areas for APC party to capture.

“We have more than one million registered members in Lagos. as I speak now, a lot of politicians are coming to our office to pick their nomination forms for various position, it means that our party is another alternative for Nigerians to support comes 2019 general elections”.
