A 35-year old man, Orenowo Adesoji, has been arrested for sexual assault by forcefully penetrating an 11-year old girl in the area in broad daylight.

The incident happened in their area known as European quarters in Meiran area of Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the embattled Adesoji had claimed that the little girl was attractive and tempting, and so he desired to have sex with her in a crude manner. He was said to have lured the 11-year old victim under the false pretence of sending her on an errand. The victim did not know that it was a ploy to trap her and she innocently went to answer him.
However, when she got to his apartment, he locked the door from behind, forcefully penetrated and injured her private part. She raised an alarm but before then he had already penetrated her and she was bleeding.

She was taken to the hospital for treatment and the assault was reported to the Gender Section of the Police Command, Lagos. He was arrested and detained at the command for interrogation where he admitted that he slept with her but with her consent.
The police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates court for raping the 11-year old.
The prosecutor, Mr. Christopher John, informed the court that the victim was a minor and she suffered serious injury on her private part as a result of the assault.
Thus, the court did not take Adesoji’s plea, denied him bail and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody.
The court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice. The matter was adjourned till 22nd October, 2018 for the report of DPP to be ready.
It was gathered that the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends him for trial and may spend up to 10 years in prison if found guilty.
