The police in Lagos arrested about 84 suspected thugs who attempted to cause mayhem during the just concluded APC primaries.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that this was confirmed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edgal Imohimi, at the State Command in Lagos on Tuesday.

The suspects were paraded with the other suspected criminals by the police at the Command.
Some of the suspects were Mustapha Seriki, Uche Onwuemena, Papal Esan, Alaba Bakare, Godwin Keme, Obinna Asigbe, Ijeoma Onyema and  Sunday Anefiong. Others were Ismaila Tiamiu, Sodiq Inusa, Okere Kinsley, Sunday Robbert, Tosin Sunday, Joseph Egboson,  Steven Okorie and many others.

The police boss said that he wanted to use the opportunity to thank Lagosians for conducting themselves peacefully during and after the recently concluded APC Primaries which by all security indices was hugely successful.
He however, noted that there were some pockets of skirmishes in some parts of the state owing to the activities of the thugs which were contained as soon as it began. He said that the Command arrested a total of 84 thugs from various parts of the state but for logistics reasons only 60 were paraded at the Command. The CP commended the police officers and members of the press for their roles in the conduct of the primaries.
Mr. Edgal said that the Command will continue to do their best to ensure that lives and property were protected while equally enjoining Lagosians to always inform the police for prompt actions whenever they see anything or suspect illegal activities.
