The National President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, has explained why his organisation asked the Igbo people to leave Northern part of Nigeria during the heat of agitation by Nnamdi Kanu of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Alhaji Shettima  stated this during the courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Ndigbo in Mushin land in Lagos.
The Igbo community has concluded plans to give Shettima an award on 8th December, 2018, by Nwosu to mark this year’s Igbo Cultural Day as a way of building relationships among the ethnic groups in Nigeria.

Shettima said that they did so as wake up call for the Igbo leaders to call Nnamdi Kanu to order so as not to cause trouble in Nigeria with the issue of Biafra. He said that after the collective efforts of all Nigeria to come together, bring peace and live with one another as a nation, Kanu did not put into consideration the efforts of present and past leaders for us to remain together as one.
He noted that with the quit notice, he discovered that the leaders and elders of Igbo land were not in support of what Kanu was doing including Ohanaeze and other groups in Igbo land.
Shettima said that he was delighted that the Igbo community in Mushin led by Eze Nwosu had decided to give him a chieftaincy title. He said the title will go a long way to bring peace and togetherness between the Igbo and Hausa communities. He thanked Eze Nwosu for finding him worthy and for having the large heart to confer the great award on him.

In reaction to Shettima’s visit, Eze Nwosu said that there was need for all ethnic groups to come together and build a strong nation where there will peace and unity among us. He thanked Shettima for finding time to visit Obi Eziokwu Palace which is the symbol of Igbo unity and building cordial relationship with other ethnic groups in Nigeria. Eze Nwosu was conferred the Ezendigbo in Mushin for his sterling qualities and bringing Igbo people together with other ethnic groups to build a strong society devoid of crisis.
