President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday revealed that some politicians who believed he was going to die during his last ailment had begun lobbying Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to be considered as his vice when he became the President.

The President disclosed this during a town hall meeting with Nigerians in Poland while dispelling the rumour which had been making the rounds since he returned from his last treatment abroad that he had been cloned.

“One of the questions that came up today in my meeting with Nigerians in Poland was on the issue of whether I‘ve been cloned or not. The ignorant rumours are not surprising — when I was away on medical vacation last year a lot of people hoped I was dead,” the President was quoted in a tweet.

“Poor Prof. Osinbajo even he had to deal with the rumours — Some people reached out to him to consider them to be his Vice President because they assumed I was dead. That embarrassed him a lot; we discussed it when he visited me while I was convalescing.”

“I can assure you all that this is the real me. Later this month I will celebrate my 76th birthday. And I’m still going strong!”

The polity has been fouled with rumour that President Buhari had died while he was on medical vacation in London earlir in the year and that he had been cloned while a certain “Jubril” from Sudan has been acting as Nigerian president.

The President had to finally dispelled the rumour for the first time in Poland where he is attending Climate Change conference.
