Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, a former Chief Security Officer to former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police in Kwara State and will superintend the elections that begin next Saturday.

Egbetokun’s appointment was among the 36 other CPs approved Tuesday by the Police Service Commission.

Their appointment came following a recommendation by the acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to the commission.

Apart from Kwara, Lagos, and Kogi, other states now have new police commissioners while the CP in charge of FCT, Borno and a few other states’ appointments were revalidated.

Details of the approval and deployment are contained in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday by the Commission’s Spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani.
