Aluko Appointed Chef de Mission, To Lead Team Nigeria To 2019 SAL Games In Cape Verde

Dr.(Mrs.) Toyin Aluko, an Assistant Director in the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, has been appointed as the Chef de Mission of Nigerian delegation to 2019 SAL Games on the Island of Sal, Cape Verde, which holds from 14 – 23 June 2019.
Aluko in her roles will provide guidance as well as represent the country as official head of delegation to the Games.
Engr. Habu Gumel, President, Nigeria Olympic committee (NOC) urged the contingent to be good ambassadors of the country while calling on the athletes to ensure they win laurels at the Games.
“This is another opportunity to demonstrate the Nigerian spirit of excellence and as you go out there, display the true spirit of sportsmanship by giving your best in your pursuit of medals for Nigeria,” he said.
The SAL 2019 Games will serve as qualifying championship for the World Beach Games which holds later in the year.
P.M. EXPRESS reports that 40 athletes will participate in the Games. The sports include Beach Handball, Half marathon (athletics), Beach Tennis, Coastal Rowing, Beach Soccer, 3×3 Basketball and Beach Volleyball.
