The arrest of a 30-year old man, Segun Olawoyin, may have revealed that not all that visits are really friends going by what Olawoyin did to his friend’s 16-year old daughter in Ogun State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Olawoyin was reportedly arrested after he visited his friend, discovered that he had gone to church with his wife and allegedly pounced on their daughter. He claimed that the devil entered him; he grabbed the victim, forcefully raped her and deflowered her in the process.

The incident happened at Mapara Makogi area of Ogun State where his friend resides with his family.

Police operatives in Ogun State arrested Olawoyin over the dastardly act and he may likely face prosecution for defilement which attracts several years imprisonment.

This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi at the weekend.
DSP Oyeyemi said that the arrest was made after the matter was reported at the Ibafo Police Station that the suspect, who is a friend of the family, went to the victim’s house on the said date at about 1:30pm asking for her parents.
According to the young girl’s account, when he found out that her parents had gone to church, he grabbed her and forcefully committed the act and in the process injured her private part.
Thereafter, the case was reported and the DPO Ibafo Division, SP Abiodun Ayinde, detailed his detectives to the scene at Mapara Makogi area and the man was promptly arrested.
DSP Oyeyemi said that during interrogation, the suspect, who admitted being a friend to the family of the victim, claimed not to know what came over him when he committed the act. According to him, the young girl always saw him as a big brother.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, has ordered the transfer of the suspect, Olawoyin, to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution.
