We’re Very Committed to Anambra Airport City Project – Obiano

The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has reiterated that his administration remains passionately committed to the Umueri Airport City Project and that before long, activities on the project site will be in top gear.
According to a video released to the public, they offered the full picture of what had delayed the construction of the proposed airport. It had clips of the interview the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. James Eze, had with an expert from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to monitor the final Aerial Survey of the project site and with the MD/CEO of Orient Petroleum who are the major equity holders in the project.
It was explained that the delay in the construction of the Anambra Airport City Project, Umueri, Anambra State, was as a result of the Nigerian Customs seizure of the aerial surveillance drone which was brought into the country by the Chinese. The Customs reportedly kept hold of the drone for a year, before it was eventually released following Gov Obiano’s intervention. The release of drone paved way for the actual aerial surveillance of the site, which has now been completed.
Thus, full construction work on the Anambra International Cargo Airport Project, Umueri, will now commence at the site.
According to one of the aides of the Governor, Hon. Juventus Chukwunweike Okoli, not minding the numerous ongoing projects across the state, the Governor possesses the political will to see to the successful execution of the airport project.
Hon. Juventus called on Ndi Anambra to shun every negative comment on the project and take the Governor by his words. He maintained that the present administration is a legacy administration and as such, the Governor, Obiano, is much more prepared to bequeath lasting cum enduring legacies to the State, her people and others in the state.
