Indian Owned Company Plans 5, 000 Jobs In Agriculture In Osun State

Effort of Governor Oyetola Gboyega of Osun State to use agriculture to create jobs and wealth for the youth in the state has started to yield positive results as an Indian company, Whitfield Venture Limited has decided to establish in the state.
P.M. EXPRESS reports that Whitfield Venture Limited is into pineapple processing and is the sole distributor of Solanika Tractors in Nigeria. Solonika Tractors, an Indian company, is one of leading tractors manufacturers in the world.
Going by the plan of Whitfield Venture Limited, over 5,000 farmers will be engaged when it eventually established its factory in Osun State. No doubt this will surely turn around the economy of the state, create job and wealth for the people.
Mr. Onkar Singh, Technical Manager of Whitfield Venture Limited, P.M. EXPRESS gathered, was on tour of some pineapple farms in Igbaye village in Odo-Otin local government at the weekend. He was accompanied by some senior government officials of the stare government who included the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Bukola Aluko.
“We are here to empower tens of thousands of the farmers in the state through pineapple growing and processing, Our plan is to use our resources to further open up agriculture in the area of our expertise to create wealth and employment in the state.
“We are also interested in providing adaptable and avoidable technology such as the Solanika Tractors from India for the purpose of mechanization of agriculture in Osun state,” Simgh told the farmers during the tour.
