Open Letter To Osodieme

Posted on August 13, 2019

Her Excellency,

Chief Dr. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano

First Lady, Anambra State.

Your Excellency,

BEWARE OF POLITICAL HYENAS IN OYI

Calvary greetings from all of us in the house of Ogene Igbo! Hope this letter meets you well as you make a gallant entry into your very own Local Government area, Oyi, in continuation of your 2019 LGA tour.  Ordinarily, this letter would have been a private message but my recent emails have been without acknowledgement of receipts leaving me in obvious doubt as per if you still read me.

You have been going places doing good, assisting the needy and aged in our state. From inception till date, you have used your NGO known as Caring Family Enhancement Initiative CAFE to identify with the less privileged, widows, indigents, children, women of low means etc., of a truth, CAFE has become a household name in Anambra State courtesy of your benevolence, and philanthropic gestures. Daalu!

Well, this letter is not tailored for praise singing as most who had accused me previously would expect considering my recent notes on you. Pundits had long believed that I would never cease to play the role of ‘big brother’ when it borders on media PR on your person and personality. Oh, yes, they might be right after all, everyone’s mum’s soup is the best. Ifeimachakwa!

Today, I write to advise you, yes, advise you openly, against entertaining the Political hyenas, who are always snoozing around you claiming thus ‘Osodieme, is our big sister’, ‘Osodieme is our great daughter’, ‘Osodieme is our last saviour’. Nne, beware of the poisoned chalice of sycophancy, and friend-enemies. These pretentious political hyenas have sadly, gossip infectious bloodlines. The singly gossips appear to have succeeded in redirecting your gaze against the reality on ground such that the people of Oyi are beginning to wonder if their sister Osodieme knows about  their predicaments. Ndi Oyi wants to know if Osodieme, who was so popular in their plans, still remembers all the promises she made to them during the 2017 reelection of her husband Governor Willie Obiano. They are agitated, and in conflicts with their conscience trying hard to understand the method or approach deployed in the sad distribution of democratic dividends within their various communities. In their crisis ridden mindset, they have risen to challenge the status quo having witnessed as it were, the rapid development of infrastructures, and provision of basic social amenities in their son in-laws area. They have reasoned and committed to ask “ogo obusikwa chi onye? ”

Recently, Ndi Oyi, have divided themselves to ‘ndi gossip ikpa and Ndi eziokwubundu groups.  The latter group seemed to be in majority but ndi gossip ikpa are unperturbed because they are benefiting from the system. Yes, the ugly system that recognises praise singing and sycophancy as an act of patriotism. A closer look at the recent political events in Oyi would leave a sane mind with the conclusion that ndi gossips ikpa, are in a lucrative business in the area.

Osodieme, the lying tongues, and rumour mongers cat walking around your abode have caused great harm than good in our constituency.

Is it not shameful enough to think that our brother lost to a relatively unknown politician in the just concluded National Assembly elections? To think that he was highly favoured and tipped to succeed was heart breaking at the release of poll results.

The highly favoured ndi gossip Ikpa, were all over you painting a different picture of our quest to have our brother represent the Oyi/Ayamelum constituency.

Today, they blame it on Comr Harris Chuma for taking a walk even while he was no longer needed in the general scheme of things. Same Political hyenas, unaware of their shambolic and shameful mannerism, superintended the decimation of their own brother at the polls. Today, you hear them scream ‘nkea bu nkea anyi’ and you think you have built an army of loyalists. Most of these sycophants and opportunists are fencing the whole of Oyi, thinking themselves gods of the land, but ndi eziokwubundu roundly believe and profess the future is very blink for them without Osodieme’s signature.

Osodieme, those who would be fearless in speaking the truth are unfortunately the ones being defamed, painted black, blue, red and even purple before you. Osodieme, those who really would never vie for government appointments are the ones being labelled rebels. Those who are not patrolling or perambulating the streets of Awka in search of government contracts are the ones being vilified, bullied, abused, and labelled enemies within. Truth be told, and you know it, at the moment, ndi Oyi are pretending all is well, Nne, please, drive down into their deepest of hearts, you would be shocked to realise that our people are grudgingly tagging along. It’s high time you took a look around ‘obodo ana anugi’, and compare it with your own father’s place. Ndi Oyi had hope in you; there is still time to change the game.

Osodieme, come home and see things by yourself, forget about the sycophants who would like always tell you that all is well, that your people are happy, that they will always sing and dance at your presence. The unintelligible ndi gossip ikpa are right  there in your face, they will lead you to the Local Government Council field to dance and cheer at the pitiful crowd. As it’s a tradition, they will line up for handshake, smile, hail you and even ginger others to chorus ‘Osodieme Oyi, Osodieme Global, Mama Anambra, et al’ . Yes, they will make the event hotter than wherever you have visited, for really you are our illustrious daughter, Ada Iguedo. But, don’t be deceived by the praise singers, those who gossip about anything seen and unseen, including spirits, they will manifestly tell our people that you are the ‘Ruth’ of our time. Do not allow these Political hyenas to take primacy over good conscience and patriotism and service to Ndi Oyi, your birth place. We may not have another First Lady in 50years time. Asaba is what it is today because Her Excellency, Mrs. Maryanne Babangida, never entertained ndi gossip ikpa in her time.

Osodieme, show to ndi Oyi that you have no need to entertain ndi gossip ikpa, show to ndi Oyi that you have been working on how to better our lot in the past years since you assumed the position of Anambra First Lady, show to ndi Oyi that your exalted position does not allow for sycophancy, that praise singing does not attract your audience. Show to ndi Oyi that you have no business with Political hyenas, that you have done well and will do more.

Welcome to Oyi Local Government Area Council, Nteje, Anambra State. Do have a great outing and may the women in our constituency find your visit enriching and refreshing in Jesus name! Amen.

Remain blessed!

Nnoo Osodieme

Ekenem!
