Tragedy struck in Oshodi area of Lagos after a family of seven including father, pregnant mother and twins were found dead inside their room.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at No. 19 Oloworo Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos, where they reside.
The residents identified the family members as one electrician called Mr. Zakariah a.k.a Cool Money; his wife, a petty trader; their four children, three daughters –11-year-old Aliyah; 5-year-old twins – Taiye and Kehinde, a 9-year-old boy named Farida and a 17-year-old female relative living with them.
The Police team was seen at the scene retrieving the corpses, which they eventually deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
The cause of the deaths have not been known yet because the autopsy has not been carried out on the victims.
However, the residents and Police were suspecting that a poisoned rice meal or generator fume must have caused their death.
According to the neighbours, they woke up at about 8am and efforts to get the deceased to open the door of their one room apartment proved abortive and Police were alerted.
When the Police arrived the scene, they forced the door open and they were all found dead inside the room.
There was no official reactions from the Police Command over the deaths as the Police Division’s report was yet to be sent to the Command for official reactions from the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana.
