Robbery Suspect Using POS During Operation Arrested

Police operatives from Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in Lagos have arrested a 30-year old robbery suspect, Chizoba Okeke, who allegedly makes use of POS to force victims into cashless transactions during operations.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Okeke, was arrested with Military uniforms, POS and other equipment, which he uses during operation at 2nd Rainbow area of FESTAC town, Lagos.
It was gathered that the POS was part of the operational strategy applied by Okeke in order the solve the problem of cash on the side of victims during operation.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, who confirmed that the suspect was in Police net. He said that on 3rd October, 2019, at about 2330 hours, FESTAC Police Station received a distress call from a petrol filling station at 2nd Rainbow FESTAC, that an armed robber was sighted along the area.
Operatives from the Special Anti-Robbery team were promptly drafted to the location and the suspect, who was identified as Chizoba Okeke, 30, was arrested.
He said what the Police recovered from him included: two mobile phones, one sword, house breaking equipment, two daggers, a POS machine and ATM card.
DSP Elkana stated that the suspect, Okeke, may not be operating alone and he must be operating with other gang members now at large and investigation was ongoing to ascertain where and how he got the military uniform he operates with and to also identify other members of his gang.
“It is not yet established whether he belongs to the gang of dismissed soldiers arrested some weeks ago” the spokesman said.
He said that the suspect will be charged to Court as soon as investigation is concluded.
