Head Coach of male football team of Lagos State, Yusuf Adeshina has boasted that his team will go far in the forthcoming 2020 National Sports Festival scheduled for Edo State in March.
P,M. EXPRESS reports that Team Lagos won one of the tickets to represent the south west zone during last zonal elimination held in Lagos. The team walloped Team Osun 6-0 in the last match of the tourney at the Agege Stadium.
Adeshina said that his target is to win football gold for the fans of the team, adding that anything short of this would be a huge disappointment. He described the just concluded zonal elimination as a preparatory ground for his team. He noted that all the mistakes his players committed would be corrected before the festival.
“My brother, I want to thank all football fans in Lagos for their unalloyed support given to us during the zonal elimination and I want to reciprocate that gesture by going to Edo and win gold in the football event. I have good players who can achieve the result and we are not afraid to play any team,” said Adeshina who thanked Lagos State Football Association and Lagos State Sports Commission for their support to ensure that the team had successful outing in the zonal elimination.
Adeshina said he will quickly start preparation ahead of the festival so that they can perfect all their strategies. He noted that series of friendly matches would be played before the festival in Edo State.
