Rampant Watford Crashed Liverpool Unbeaten Run With Emphatic 3-0 Victory

The biggest upset of the season was served up here before us, as Jurgen Klopp’s high-flying Liverpool lost their unbeaten record at the hands of a struggling Watford side battling to stay in the division.
Amid the madness it was youngster Ismaila Sarr who would rise above all others, hitting a sublime brace and very nearly completed his hat-trick before being withdrawn in the latter stages.
A lapse in concentration saw Sarr break the deadlock by poking home from close range, before a rapid counter attack then allowed the Senegal starlet to showcase his finishing abilities by lobbing onrushing goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Liverpool toiled, left feeling sensations they have not experienced in the league for some time. Substitute Adam Lallana rattled the post from distance, but Jurgen Klopp’s side were largely toothless as Vicarage Road grew in both confidence and decibels.
As the league leaders pressed forward desperately searching for a way back, Watford struck again. Dejan Lovren found himself caught behind his marker, before Sarr teed up strike partner Troy Deeney to lash home from the left side of the area.
The result means Liverpool have failed to break Manchester City’s consecutive Premier League winning record of 19 games on the bounce, and will now not be able to go on to equal Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ record of the 2003-04 campaign.
