ONAJI Mourns Abba Kyari

The National President of Our Nation for Justice Initiative (ONAJI), Hon. Olusola Orelaja has joined millions of Nigerians in mourning the demise of the Chief of Staff to President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Abba Kyari.

Reacting to the sad announcement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the NGO registered and incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission, described the death as sad and shocking.

According to information, Kyari died on Friday due to suspected complications from the dreaded coronavirus after testing positive few weeks ago.

In a statement released on Saturday, Orelaja said, “This is a very sad news coming at such critical time that the country is battling with Covid-19 and other serious issues as a nation. We are pained by this irreparable loss of another citizen of this great country.”

He described the late Kyari as a personality that protected the interest of Nigeria as a public servant till the end.

“The late Chief of Staff was misunderstood while alive which is not uncommon with people occupying such sensitive post, but it was obvious that despite his weaknesses as human, he gave his all. According to reports, he contracted the virus while in Germany where he went to discuss how best to attract investors and improve the power sector.”

The NGO whose primary focus is agitating for Justice to Humanity, Good Governance, Human rights, Health Outreach, Sports Developments, Women’s right, Empowerment and Support for the deprived in Nigeria and Africa took out time to condole with President Muhammadu Buhari, the immediate family, and associates of the late Kyari who have been directly affected by the sad occurrence.

“It was not a secret that Mr President and Kyari were so close because of the relationships they had. We pray that God will grant him Aljanah Firdau.”

He took out time to appeal to all Nigerians to see Covid-19 as a major threat as he advised that all hands must be on deck as the fight against the pandemic continues.

“Covid-19 is no respecter of anybody. It is not a rich man sickness. To stay alive, we must adhere to health guidelines from the World Health Organisation (WHO), The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and health care givers. We must self-isolate and maintain social distancing to curb its spread. Together, we will overcome. Please stay safe,” Orelaja concluded.
