Anambra 2021: Orumba Group Strategizes For Soludo’s Guber Race

A group of eminent personalities in Anambra State desirous of drafting Prof Chukwuma Soludo, former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), and Chairman Anambra Vision 2070 to contest for the Anambra 2021 gubernatorial election have concluded plans to begin the ground work for Prof Soludo, who is yet to formally declare for the race.
The meeting which was presided over by Sir Chukwudi Okoli, the Chairman and Co-ordinator of ‘Anambra Demands Soludo’, (ADS), Orumba North; was hosted by Her Excellency, Mrs. Ifeoma Ekwueme, wife of the former Vice President, late Dr Alex Ekwueme.

Other dignitaries present at the meeting include; Prof Obiajulu Obikeze, Chief Henry Onyekwelu (Onwa), Capt Cassimir Nwafor (rtd), among others.

In a statement made available to the media, Dr. Chima Okoli, a key strategist and member of the group, insisted that Prof Soludo has the right credentials and requisite experience to assume the mantle of leadership as governor of the state in 2021 considering his intellectual capacity, international connection and consultancy experience acquired overtime.

He cautioned that the Post COVID-19 era and the continuous downward and incessant fluctuations of global oil prices will require a man of Prof Soludo’s calibre to lead the people of Anambra State to consolidate on the gains of His Excellency, Governor Willie Obiano

The meeting also agreed on the need to concentrate on reaching out to Ndi Anambra at the various ward levels through ward formations as the key strategy to mobilize support for Prof Soludo.

Part of the statement read, “I want to use this opportunity to call on our ADS members in both Orumba North and South LGAs to ensure the establishments of ADS presence in our various wards. The action indeed is in the ward as there is no other way to demonstrate membership commitments” the statement concluded.

It will be recalled that there has been unabating calls from other well-meaning Ndi Anambra and prominent Nigerians for Prof Chukwuma Soludo to join the 2021 Anambra gubernatorial race in recent time, with the believe that the former CBN Governor has what it takes to take Anambra State to the next level.
