In its effort to ensure quality education in a conducive teaching and learning environment for pupils, the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board has commissioned the newly refurbished St. Peter’s Primary School, Apapa Road, Ebutte Metta, Lagos by the Conduct and Compliance Group of Access Bank Plc.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, Mr.Wahab Alawiye-King, affirmed that education is at the heart of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration’s development efforts, hinting that the State government is poised to deliver an all-inclusive quality education aided by the deployment of technology and enhancement of teachers’ abilities through capacity building.

He appreciated Access Bank Plc for investing in the future of the children, adding that the renovation of an 11-classroom block, with the Head Teachers’ office, a computer room, reception and 12 toilets, is a huge gesture to the State.

“As part of your Corporate Social Responsibility, it is truly profound, highly commendable and hugely appreciated by the State”, he stated.

While noting that every child deserves an opportunity to learn in a positive environment and feel comfortable within it, he solicited for more partnership collaboration, pointing out that the Board is carrying out infrastructural upgrade and renovation in Public Primary Schools.

Alawiye-King disclosed that the Board is also collaborating with relevant stakeholders to digitalise public primary school education in the State, through the EKOEXCEL initiative of Mr. Governor.

He, therefore, urged the Education Secretary and school managers to take ownership of the infrastructure and ensure proper care of the facilities for the benefit of all stakeholders.

Pattison Boleigha, Head, Conduct and Compliance Group of Access Bank PLC, stated that the organisation is sensitive to community needs and is, therefore, involved in carrying out Corporate Social Responsibility activities to promote public interest through social investment.

“We hope to continue to collaborate with the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board and other Government Agencies to promote social welfare for community development”, he said.
