Imo Deputy Speaker, Iwuanyanwu Congratulates Udodi Onwuzurike For Making List Of Nigeria’s Team To U-20 World Athletics Championship

The Member representing Nwangele Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly; Imo Deputy Speaker and House Committee Chairman on Youths, Sports & Entrepreneurship, Rt Hon. Amarachi Iwuanyanwu, has congratulated a member of his Constituency – a United States of America based award winning young athlete, Udodi Onwuzurike, for making the list of Nigeria’s squad to the U-20 World Athletics Championship in Nairobi, Kenya, starting from Wednesday, 18th August to Sunday, 22nd August, 2021.

Speaking in a telephone interactive session with the Publisher of 4thestatereporters, an obviously elated State  Lawmaker and sports enthusiast, Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu,  expressed joy that such good news and big story coming from the Diaspora, which dotted discussions in the cyber space,  as well as dominated both national and international dailies in the country, is centered around an Imo born athlete and a member of his Constituency.

While commending the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) for  its thorough and rigorous screening in selecting the best among the rest in Team Nigeria, the youthful egghead State Legislator, Amara Iwuanyanwu,  expressed confidence that Udodi Onwuzurike shall make Nigeria proud during the competition given his amazing records as an outstanding and highly decorated athlete in the U.S. High School National Athletics category.

Udodi Onwuzurike, 18-year old Nigerian born United States of America based young athlete, just like world most celebrated  Jamaican Olympian Usain Bolt,  had participated in a number of both state and national competitions in the United States of America and won many laurels, among which were: a gold medalist at the 2017 AAU in Detroit, had an amazing Personal Record ( PR) of 20.78 at 200meters running with professionals at American Track League -Sound Running Sunset Tour; crowned the fastest high school runner in the nation  at the 2021 Brooks PR Invitational – having broken Christian Coleman Brooks PR record of 7 years ago (Boys 100m).

Just like Jamaican Olympian Usain Bolt, who, when he set his 100m world record, running at a speed of 9.58 seconds, Udodi Onwuzurike according to sports analysts, has been tipped as the future of Nigeria in the world of athletics having shown dedication, commitment to excellence, positive mindset and optimism in every competition in his chosen career.

The Imo Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu, while praying for the young athlete and his team mates – the  Nigerian squad, to make the nation proud during the competition in Nairobi, Kenya, however, disclosed that Udodi Onwuzurike shall be celebrated back home in due time.
