The National Chairman of the Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria, ALGOVC and
Executive Vice Chairman, Ikorodu LGA, Lagos State, Aarebirin Hon Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, has expressed shock and sadness over the death of the respected All Progressives Congress leader, Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson, describing her as “Unforgettable and a Queen of Hearts.
In an emotion laden message, Princess Folashade said,” I was shocked and greatly saddened by the sudden passing of an activist, prominent politician, and my Mentor, Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson”.
“Our beloved Mommy was a Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council Member and former APC National Southwest Women Leader, a nationalist and grassroots mobilizer.
Chief Mrs. Olukemi Nelson ranked highly within our progressive front. She was relentless, she was dedicated, and she worked assiduously for the creation of the Nigeria of our dreams. She could well have achieved and sustained personal success as a private citizen concerning herself solely with the welfare of her family. Instead, she passionately committed herself to politics as a vehicle for her to contribute to the common good of all.”
“Throughout the course of her life, our Mommy, Dearest Yeyesewa, Chief Mrs. Olukemi Nelson did much for the development of Lagos State, the cause of progressivism, and the progress of Nigeria. As Commissioner, she began the Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Centres in various Local Government Areas across Lagos which, to this day, continue to empower disadvantaged women, men and youths in the State.”
“Unforgettable Yeyesewa of the Universe, Chief Mrs. Olukemi Nelson shall never be forgotten for her past sacrifices for Lagos State and indeed Nigeria; she will be remembered for good. For her commitment to the womenfolk and the downtrodden, she will be celebrated.”
“Yeyesewa for me will always be  remembered for her motherly love, as a dedicated teacher, always wanting to get the best out of everyone, abiding compassion for God and humanity, and for always being there for us and our progressive cause.”
“I commiserate with her first family, particularly her doting husband and children. I mourn with our Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and our great APC family worldwide.”
“We have all lost an illustrious woman. May we all have the strength to live with this passage. I pray that God Almighty grant her rest in perfect peace! Eternal Rest, My Most Beautiful Queen of Hearts Chief Mrs Olukemi Nelson (Yeyesewa of the Universe).”
