Adeleke’s Govt Is Deeply Nepotistic And Projects Are Substandard  — Says Olalekan Oni

Posted on August 13, 2026
Ahead of the governorship election, a member of the Digital Media Committee of the Osun APC Campaign Council, Mr. Olalekan Oni, has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration of nepotism, lopsided appointments, and executing substandard projects across the state.
Mr. Oni, a prominent political commentator on radio and television, made the claims during a media engagement on Tuesday, saying the current government has failed to deliver equitable development to all parts of Osun.
The APC chieftain alleged that the composition of the Adeleke administration reflects favoritism and regional bias.
“Check the list of Adeleke’s appointees. You will see it clearly that everything about him is lopsided,” Mr. Oni said.
“It shows he’s parochial and doesn’t understand governance. Government is supposed to be for all Osun people, not for one section or one family.”
Mr. Oni further criticized the quality and distribution of government projects under the Adeleke administration.
“Go round Osun State and all you will see are substandard projects. If there is any meaningful project then it is domiciled in Ede,” he alleged.
He urged residents to vote out Adeleke in the Saturday’s election as his time in government has not translated to durable infrastructure across all 30 LGAs, but just in the Governor’s hometown.
Speaking on the role of celebrity endorsements and political alliances in the coming election, Mr. Oni dismissed claims that music star Davido’s support would translate to electoral victory for the Accord Party.
He also questioned the ability of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola to deliver votes for the relatively new African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Osun.
“With all due respect, we are watching to see how Aregbesola, with a relatively unknown ADC in Osun State, hopes to win elections again. The people know who has their interest at heart,” he stated.
Mr. Oni said the APC is mobilizing across the state to present what he called a more inclusive and competent alternative ahead of 2027.
He called on Osun people to reject “government of family and friends” and vote for a party that will ensure fairness, transparency and quality infrastructure.
