My Agenda For Lagos Gymnastics – New Chairperson, Ogunseinde

Chairperson of board of Lagos State Gymnastics Association, Mrs Moyo Ogunseinde has said that the agenda of her administration is to take the sport to the next level higher than where it is now.

Ogunseinde is among the chairpersons and chairmen of various sports associations inaugurated by the chairman of the Governing Board of Lagos State Sports Commission, Dr Kweku Tandoh recently, and since the inauguration, PM EXPRESS can report that Mrs Ogunseinde, an avid lover of gymnastics and other members of the board have hit the ground running, putting necessary structures in place to ensure that they succeed.

She disclosed her immediate plans to lift up the fortune of the game in Lagos, saying: “our plan is to make Gymnastics the pillar of sports in Lagos. We can do it because we have everything at our disposal to succeed.

”Going forward, we need to build on what we have for us to make Gymnastics one of the key pillars of sports in Lagos. We must encourage people around us for them to cue in to our programmes to lift the game up. We must also mobilise all stakeholders to support the vision we have for the sport, thank goodness we have people on the board who are also passionate of the game.

“As the new board of the association, our priority is to examine where we are now and from there chart a course to where we are go and where we should be. What is key is to involve all stakeholders because everyone has fallen apart. We need to bring everyone on the same page. We need to bring all the athletes, all the coaches, the technical officers and even the parents together for everybody to share the same vision of lifting the game up in Lagos state. After this we will come up with strategic plans which we will share with the sports commission.

“We have a good future ahead of us and with the successes the association had in the past we will bring our experience in the private sector to add lasting values to Gymnastics in Lagos state,” Ogunseinde said.

Meanwhile, the Gymnastics events at the National Sports Festival in Abuja late on Saturday with Team Lagos winning 2 gold medals in Best Team Female and in Uneven Bar for Female and 2 bronze medals in Vault women and in Floor Men.
