Ahead LG Polls: Lagos House Members Commend Ikeja Sole Administrator

In line with the promise by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State to create the right ambiance for the peaceful conduct of local government elections in the state, members of the committee of the Lagos State House of Assembly on the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, have commenced their oversight function.
On Wednesday, the members of the committee led by the chairman, Hon. Funmilayo Tejuosho visited Ikeja Local Government as part of their statutory responsibility. P.M. EXPRESS gathered that the essence of the visit was to ascertain the level of preparedness around the state in view of the date and timetable of events towards free and fair conduct of local government polls.
The honourable members were received at the Ikeja Council headquarters by the Sole Administrator, Engr. Abiodun Taiwo. The delegation went round to inspect the facilities provided by the local government for smooth and effective operations of LASIEC.
The delegation commended the Sole Administrator Engr. Taiwo for making available conducive office spaces and storage for the smooth operations of the commission and encouraged him to do more. The Sole Administrator was also highly commended for other noble ongoing projects around the council secretariat and he promised the honourable members that he will work on the few recommendations they made.
The LASIEC Resident Officer also thanked the delegation for their visit and promised that the Commission will not fail with their primary duties to “organize, undertake and supervise all elections in all local government councils within the state.
