Ahoada Town Agog As Gov Fubara Commissions Government Girls Secondary School

Ahoada Town, the administrative hub of the Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality, witnessed an outpouring of jubilation on Friday, 6th December 2024, as dignitaries and citizens gathered to celebrate the official commissioning of the remodeled and reconstructed Government Girls Secondary School, Ahoada.
This event marked another milestone in the exemplary governance of Rivers State under the pragmatic leadership of Sir (Dr.) Siminalayi Fubara, DSSRS.
Education, often regarded as the cornerstone of societal development, received a boost through this initiative. The remodeled school represents the Fubara administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and providing conducive learning environments for young girls, who are poised to become future leaders, mothers, and pillars of society.
The Rivers State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ovy Chinedum Chukwuma, a proud son of Ahoada East, expressed immense joy as he hosted the event. He was joined by the Eze Ekpeye Logbo III, His Royal Majesty Eze Sir, (Amb.) Kelvin Ngozi Anugwor, Ph.D, DSSRS, ACTI, FNIM, JP, AP, along with other traditional rulers, political leaders, civil servants, and businesspeople, who welcomed the “People’s Governor” to Ahoada East.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Ekpeye people, Governor Fubara was honored with the prestigious chieftaincy title EZE YAWE UGO 1 of Ekpeye Land. Gifts including bags of garri, tubers of yam, live cows, fish, birds, wrappers, and more were presented as tokens of appreciation for his commitment to the region’s progress, particularly for appointing Ekpeye sons to key government positions.
The event underscored Governor Fubara’s vision of inclusive governance, leaving Ahoada Town and the entire Ekpeye Nation basking in the glow of fulfilled promises and shared progress.
