Aiyepeku: Lagos Will Continue To Be Pacesetter Of Sports Development In Nigeria

The Executive Charman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Sola Aiyepeku, has reiterated that the state will be in the forefront of sports development in Nigeria.

Speaking at the press conference to usher in the 8th Gold-label Access Bank Lagos City Marathon held at the Access Towers Headquarters, Victoria lsland, Lagos State on Friday, Aiyepeku noted that the state has been the host of the marathon since the debut edition in 2013 and has been part of the success story of the event, which has growth from status as an ordinary marathon race to bronze label, silver label and now the gold label.

He disclosed that the Government of Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the good of Lagos state are proud to associate with the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon which has since become one of the most sought-after races in the world today.

“I want to assure that Lagos will be at the forefront of sports development in Nigeria. We have a government which has devoted resources to build eight stadia across the state at once. This, we are doing to use sports to grow socio-economic benefits for the people.

“The government of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu will continue to do many things to give our youths the chance to express themselves,” Aiyepeku.
