Akeredolu Commissions 100-Bed Mother & Child Hospital In Ifon

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has commissioned a 100-bed Mother & Child hospital in Ifon, Ose LGA.

The Governor said the new Mother-and-Child Hospital is a complement to the numerous other projects that his administration has implemented in the health sector.

According to the Governor, his administration, from inception, has placed a high premium on access to adequate health care to meet the needs of the good people of the State.

“This project is a product of collaboration between the Federal & State Governments. For Ondo State to continue to enjoy the benefits of this nature, continuity at the state level is vital. Continuity is the key to the sustenance of this productive partnership,” he said.

Akeredolu listed his intervention in the health sector of the state to include; employment of 500 health personnel, of the Ondo State Contributory Health Scheme, Designated additional 5 hospitals across the three senatorial districts as Mother-and l-Child health center, construction of the first Critical Care Unit at the UNIMED Teaching Hospital, Akure; upgraded and equipped the Infectious Diseases Hospital, Akure; and established the Isolation Centres in Ikare, Okitipupa, Owo and recently, in Ondo.

The Olufon of Ifon, Oba Isreal Adegoke Adewusi thanked Governor Akeredolu for the hospital saying it is the first time a general hospital would be constructed in Ifon since the existence of the town.
