Akika Decorated As Substantive Commissioner Of Police

It was an emotional atmosphere at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, FCT, Abuja, amid pomp and pageantry as DCP Austines Akika was decorated in grand style as a substantive Commissioner of Police for excellent performances in crime busting.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Inspector-General of Police Usman Baba, who decorated the now CP Akika and other newly promoted senior Police officers comprising 13 AIGs and 43 CPs, said that the officers earned the promotion on the basis of seniority, merit, unblemished service records and invaluable experiences.

The event attracted very important dignitaries amidst cheers from their spouses, loved ones and well-wishers including media practitioners.
CP Akika’s promotion did not come as a surprise to many because he is a typical example of a senior Police officer with wealth of experience, intelligence and super strategy in the job of policing. So, the promotion is a pat on the back for what Akika is doing in the Nigeria Police.

Akika has worked in many capacities at various Commands across the States in Nigeria, where he brought his intelligence and capacity to lead to bear by mobilizing his officers and the stakeholders in the States by application of intelligence and innovative community policing strategies.

He is a super example of the Police officer, who employs modern community policing approach by partnering with the stakeholders comprising the traditional rulers, leaders, youths, eminent personalities in the area in building a common synergy to combat crime.

The Auchi Edo State-born CP Akika, popularly known as Master Strategist, is a very rugged and proactive officer. He is a very seasoned, humble, hardworking and honest Police Officer, who is highly dedicated to the cause of the public safety for prevention of crimes and criminality in Nigeria.

No Wonder Akika has received several awards from within Nigeria and abroad including the popular Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) Award of Excellence as a sporadic and passionate crime buster. He last served at the Police College in Ikeja, Lagos, as the Deputy Commandant before he was recently promoted to the rank of substantive Commissioner of Police.
