Akinsanya Inaugurates 6th Igando-Ikotun Legislative Assembly

The Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, on Tuesday, 29 July, 2025, inaugurated the 6th Legislative Council of the LCDA, at the Legislative Chamber in Ikotun. 

 

Comrade Akinsanya congratulated the newly elected Councillors for their victory at the polls and charged them to be good ambassadors of the 6th Legislative House to project Igando-Ikotun to greater heights.

The Legal Officer of Igando-Ikotun LCDA Barr. Isiaka Adebisi conducted the official swearing-in of the councilors and after taking Oaths of Allegiance and Oaths of Office the house was inaugurated

 

The Clerk of the House, Mr. Fashinu, presided over the nomination and election of the Principal Officers of the newly constituted Legislative Arm.

The new leaders are: Leader of the House, Hon. Tajudeen Olorunfemi representing Ward F; Deputy Leader, Mrs Tosin Opebiyi representing Ward C; Majority Leader, Hon. Hassan Olawale representing Ward B; Chip Whip, Hon. Mukandas Musbau representing Ward D

 

Comrade Akinsanya expressed the hope that they will achieve a greater Igando-Ikotun by passing bye-laws that would develop the essential facets of the local government to attain a world standard local authority.

He further charged them to generate new ideas, innovation and strategies while making laws to address the challenges hindering the growth of the council area.

 

Comrade Akinsanya assured that his administration will continue to provide adequate security as well as physical infrastructure that will attract investors to the area and appealed for their support to propel the much anticipated agenda.

“We must rise beyond political lines and personal interests to embrace a common purpose the growth of Igando-Ikotun LCDA Together, we can achieve far more than we did in the last term,” he affirmed.

Comrade Akinsanya further assured that administration will work round the clock to put Igando-Ikotun to its place of pride in the to regain its cultural heritage, rebuild their digital integrity and liberty and ensure sustainable development that will make life meaningful.

 

The member of the House of Representatives representing Alimoso Federal Constituency, Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba Esq, advised the councillors to work with a mutual understanding and a good relationship with the Chairman of council to achieve the desired development of the council.

Hon. Oduntan Aramide also emphasized the need for collaboration and unity among all stakeholders urging them to work hand-in-hand with the administration of Comrade Akinsanya to deliver on the promises made to the people of Igando-Ikotun LCDA during their oversight functions.

 

Dignitaries present at the inauguration are: Vice Chairman, Hon Prince Adewumi Dada; Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba; Hon. Oduntan Aramide; G12 leaders; political leaders; the Council Manager; the Council Treasurer; and management as well as staff of the council.
