Alex Ekwueme Square Closed Temporarily

The Anambra State Government has notified the general public of the temporary closure of the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, the state capital.

 

In a statement signed by Sir Paul Nwosu, the Honourable Commissioner for Information, the State Government said, “This is to inform the public, especially the physical fitness lovers, that the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, is presently undergoing a transformational reconstruction by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR”.

 

“For this reason, the arena will be closed to the public until this exercise is completed in a couple of months.”

 

“Government regrets any inconvenience this could cause Ndi Anambra, who flock there every morning and evening to engage in recreational sports and body exercises to be healthy.”
