Alhaji Yahya Turbaned As The New Chief Imam Of Anifowoshe Central Mosque

Alhaji Abdul Ganiyi Yahya was turbaned as the new Chief Imam of Anifowoshe Central Mosque on Sunday 26th November, 2017 at a well attended ceremony held at the headquarters of Ikeja Local Government, Lagos.
His turbaning became necessary as a result of the vacuum left by the demise of the second Chief Imam of Anifowoshe Central Mosque, Alhaji Jamiu Alabi on the 18th of December, 2015.
After the exit of Alhaji Jamiu Alabi, the Executive and Mission board had selected four among the six Ratibi Imams to lead Jummat services until the turbaning of a new Chief Imam. The turbaning of 55 year-old son of Alhaji and Alhaja Yahya Sanni thus ended the about one year and ten months the Ratibi Imams ran the activities of the central mosque.
On hand to perform the turbaning was Chief Imam Sheik Tijani O. Balogun ( the Chief Imam of Ikeja Central Mosque and the President League of Imams and Missioners, Ikeja Division). The chairman of the occasion was Alhaji Chief M. Atanda (Marquis), while the father of the day was Hon. Engr. Mojeed Alabi Balogun (the Executive Chairman, Ikeja Local Govt.)
In a chat with P.M.EXPRESS, the General Secretary/ Arowosadinni – Alhaji Chief S.O. Osinberu, said that the Turbaning Committee and the entire Jamah of Anifowoshe Central Mosque were grateful to Almighty Allah for the choice of a new Chief Imam and expressed optimism the new Chief Imam will discharge his duties effectively and bring about a fresh approach to the smooth running of the activities of the mosque.
