Amb Comrade Ibe Commends Rivers Assembly For Halting Impeachment Proceedings Against Gov. Fubara And Deputy

The President General of respected Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe (JP AP), has highly commended the Rivers State House of Assembly for halting the impeachment proceedings initiated against His Excellency Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Odu.
While speaking to the media in Port Harcourt on Thursday 19th February, 2026, the ONC PG, Amb Ibe said, “I wish to highly commend the Honourable Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who at their 61st Legislative Sitting on Thursday, resolved to suspend all impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminialayi Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu”.
“This is a welcome development and this is what we all want in Rivers State. I doff my hat for Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, who brokered this peace for the development of Rivers State. His direct fatherly intervention in the protracted political imbroglio cannot be overstated. We promise to reward this fatherly gesture with massive votes in the 2027 General elections.”
“I hereby use this medium to plead with all the parties involved to ensure lasting peace by embracing genuine reconciliation in the overall interest of the people of Rivers State.”
