Police Week 2026: Rivers State Police Command Holds Walkathon To Mark Day Two Activities And Promote Fitness, Visibility & Public Safety

The Nigeria Police Force, Rivers State Command, today, Tuesday, 31st March, 2026, continued activities marking the 2026 Police Week with a Walkathon exercise aimed at promoting physical fitness, visibility policing, and strengthened community engagement and foster public trust across the State.
The Walkathon was led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adewole Adepoju,psc, mnips, alongside members of the Command’s management team, and POWA  Executive Rivers State Chapter,Also PCRC, Honorary Member of the Mess , POCACOV, Supernumerary (SPY ) Police ; Distinguished stakeholders in the community.
According to the PPRO, CSP Grace Iringe-Koko, the exercise commenced from the Police Headquarters, and covered designated routes within the State, with officers and men of the Command actively participating.
The exercise is in line with the vision and community policing initiatives of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, aimed at strengthening police-community partnership, enhancing public trust, and promoting proactive policing strategies nationwide.
