Amb Emeni Ibe Hails Gov Siminalayi Fubara’s Developmental Strides In Three Years

Ambassador Emeni Ibe (JP AP), the President General of respected Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, has stated that Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s tenure has been marked by notable achievements and that his intentional leadership of putting Rivers First has yielded unprecedented accomplishments in the past three years despite distractions and challenges.
From the list of projects, it is obvious that governance has not slowed down; visible projects are being completed, new ones are ongoing and lives are improving.
Below are some of the commissioned and ongoing projects executed by the administration since taking over in May 2023 till date.
1. The 10.9 kilometres Aleto–Eteo–Ebubu Road (Inaugurated).
2. Emohua–Tema Road.(Completed)
3. 24 kilometers Egbeda Internal Roads (Completed).
4. 12.2 kilometers Trans-Kalabari Road Projects (Ongoing)
5. 50.15 kilometers Port Harcourt Dual Carriage Ring Road (Ongoing)
6. The 33.5 kilometres Elele–Umudioga–Egbeda–Ubimini– Ikiri–Omoku Dual Carriage Road (nearing completion).
7. 6 kilometres Okania–Ogbogoro Road (completed)
8. 14 kilometers Eberi–Umuakali–Omodu Road, linking Rivers and Abia States. (Completed)
9. 14 kilometers Rumukwurushi–Igbo Etche Road (Completed & Open For Use)
10. 19 kilometers Omoku–Egbema Road (Completed).
11. Andoni Section of the Ogoni–Opobo–Andoni Unity Road (Conpleted).
12. Construction of the Ngo–Oyorokoto Atlantic Beach Road, Andoni (nearing completion).
13. 14 kilometers Ngo-Atlantic Ocean new road (nearing completion)
14. 1.3 kilometers Chokocho–Igbodo–Okpala Road (Completed and Open For Use)
15. 7.3 kilometers Kalaibiama–Epellema Road & Bridge (Ongoing)
16. 7.5 kilometers Opobo Ring Road (completed)
17. 10.8 kilometres Egbeda–Omerelu Road (Completed)
18. Old Port Harcourt Road, Ahoada/rehabilitation of the old bridge (nearing completion)
19. 27 kilometers Ahoada–Omoku Road (Phase 2) – Completed
20. Construction of 14 kilometers Bori Internal Roads (Completed)
21. 14 kilometers Okehi–Umuola–Eberi Omuma Road (Completed).
22. 9.2 kilometers Emohua–Ogbakiri Road (Completed)
23. Emoh/Iyak/Ighom/Elok and Emoh–Egbolom Roads in Abua/Odual LGA (Completed and Open for use).
24. 10.4 kilometres Uyakama–Obodhi–Ozochi Road and. Bridges (Completed)
25. Okocha Internal Roads, Rumuolumeni (Completed)
26. Construction of the Palace of the Eze Apara Kingdom (Completed).
27. Construction of the Palace of the Eze Akpor Kingdom (Completed)
28. Construction of the Nyeweli Rebisi Palace, PHALGA (Nearing completion)
29. Completion and Furnishing of the Model Secondary School, Ataba Town, Andoni.
30. Remodelling and reconstruction of Bori, Omoku, Ahoada and Degema Zonal Hospitals(Bori and Ahoada have been Commissioned and are open for use). Rehabilitation of Bonny General Hospital is ongoing
31. Construction of brand new Neuropsychiatric Hospital & a new General Hospital in Rumuigbo, Obi/Akpor LGA
32. Implementation of ₦85,000 Minimum Wage for Rivers State Workers.
33. Payment of Promotion Arrears and Christmas bonuses as well as largesse to Pensioners.
34. Launch of ₦4 Billion Soft Loan for SMEs and ₦1 Billion Recapitalisation Fund for Rivers Microfinance Bank.
35. Construction of 19 kilometers Buguma–Tema–Degema–Abonnema Road.(Nearing completion)
36. Rehabilitation of GRA phase 11 Internal Roads and rehabilitation of all roads in Old Port Harcourt township
37. Employment of Children of Fallen Heroes and Veterans into the State Civil Service.
38. Construction of Permanent Secretary Quarters, Elimgbu.(Completed and commissioned)
39. 10 kilometers Ihuowo–Ihuama Road in Ahoada-East (Completed and commissioned)
40. Construction of Commissioners’ Quarters, Amadi-Ama (Ongoing)
41. Greater TAF City 20,000 Low-Cost Housing Project (Phase 1).
42. Rehabilitation of 12.2 kilometres Igwuruta–Airport Road.
43. Construction of 7.1 kilometres Ipo–Igwuruta/Airport Road Bypass.(Ongoing)
44. Renovation of the Rivers State Secretariat Complex.(Ongoing)
45. Payment of backlog of pensions and gratuities, with pension payments now made promptly and consistently as well as increased monthly pension funds to N2bn
46. Rehabilitation of 105 Health Centres across the State.
47. Extension of Retirement Age for Community Health Practitioners from 60 to 65 Years. As well as extension of retirement age of professional teachers from 60 to 65 years
48. Rehabilitation of Okrika Grammar School (completed and commissioned)
49. Construction of Judges Quarters (Completed & commissioned)
50. Rehabilitation and Equipimg of 3 Rivers State Fire Stations; ( all completed & commissioned)
a). Mile 1 Fire Service Station
b). Borikiri Fire Service Station
c). Rumuodumaya Fire Service Station
51. Donation of a helicopter to the Nigerian Air Force.
52. Construction of two (2) bungalows and BFORs accommodation for the Nigerian Navy.
53. Donation of six (6) Abitto gunboats to the Nigerian Navy to strengthen maritime security.
54. Construction of six (6) blocks of Nigerian Air Force prototype residential quarters.
55. Purchase of one hundred (100) utility vehicles for the Nigeria Police Force, Rivers State Command.
56. Donation of twelve (12) Hilux vehicles to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
57. Donation of a fire service truck to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
58. Rehabilitation of the Air Force Base runway and lighting (Ongoing)
59. Commissioning of Government House Staff Quarters.(Completed & Commissioned)
60. Release of Rivers State University, Kira Campus, for the take-off of the Federal University of Environment, Ogoni Land.
61. Construction of the 12.3 kilometres Egwi–Afara–Mba Road.(Ongoing)
62. Employment of 2,000 health workers, comprising 1,000 doctors and 1,000 primary healthcare workers.
63. Employment of 1,000 teachers, with approval granted for the recruitment of an additional 5,000 teachers.
64. Construction of hostels and an administrative block at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic.(Ongoing)
65. Construction of 14 Abua -Agba-Ndele Link road and 200 meters bridge (nearing completion of the road while the bridge has been completed)
66. Rumunduru internal road, Obio/Akpor
67. Construction of Creek Road Market (Ongoing)
68. Rehabilitation of Amadi-Abuloma road.
This list did not include several social welfare and youth empowerment programmes targeted at improving the quality of lives of Rivers people.
